Ephesians 4 vs 29 NIV

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

I watched with interest as a group of newscasters spoke on an impending national issue, they spoke with so much passion and enthusiasm, with corresponding facial expressions. To my surprise, the purpose of all this activity was the delivery of negativity.

It’s amazing how most of the news in the media is usually on unpleasant occurrences and how so much energy is applied to things that are not productive or progressive, things that drain people instead of moving them forward.

Have you ever stopped to consider how many times you have said negative things that draw from the goodness of the Lord?

For some reason we have become obsessed with all things bad. Have you ever imagined what a wonderful place the world would be if we all spoke in a manner that seeks to spread light and hope?

It’s very sad that we have deviated from the root of what He envisaged for all of us, we have allowed hate to take centre stage yet love is what we should share in abundance. Ask yourself today, “What would my Maker want me to share with others?” Spread hope and love.
