Filabusi win Talen Vision tourney

FILABUSI United won the Talen Vision Top 8 inaugural tournament after beating Gwanda Delete 1-0 at Filabusi’s Mthwakazi Stadium on Saturday.

Filabusi United walked away with a $600 cash prize, 24 Arsenal t-shirts and winners medals, while the runners-up walked away with $400 and runners-up medals.

Sponsors of the event were Talen Vision Food Court and Kevin Marley Nyathi, who is based in the UK.

The teams were grouped into two groups, with Group A consisting of Talen Vision, The Venue, Gwanda Delete and Mbembesi, while Group B had Farvic, Unicerm, Bhekeni Celtic and Filabusi United.

Filabusi United won their group with seven points from a draw with Farvic, a 1-0 win over Bhekeni Celtic and a 2-0 victory against Unicerm.

Gwanda Delete qualified for the final after accumulati­ng five points from a draw against Talen Vision, a draw against The Venue and a 3-0 win over Mbembesi.

There were individual prizes which saw Filabusi United scooping most of them, with Manuel Nyoni scooping the goalkeeper of the tournament for keeping five clean sheets.

The most discipline­d player went to Brat Ndlovu from Filabusi United, most promising player was Romanio Salif from Talen Vision, top goal scorer was Phakela Moyo from Mbembesi.

The sponsors assured the Matabelela­nd South region that the tournament will be an annual event as they wish to develop talent. — @DecoDecent­2.
