Arm yourself with the Word of God

-

Be blessed Ephesians 6 vs 17

“TAKE the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

I was late for a church service that I was meant to speak at, on my way I noticed a man who was struggling to walk with the aid of a walking stick. I proceeded to stop and offer him a lift, my colleague helped him into the car, and as we drove away he started to speak.

His voice was scratchy and slurred, I could tell it was probably the after effects of a stroke which explained the difficulty with walking and the walking stick. He then spoke, “I see you have a powerful weapon that you travel with.” I was slightly surprised since the only thing of significance sitting at the back was my Bible.

He went on to refer to the Bible as the most powerful weapon to have at all times.

A few minutes later, we had arrived at his destination and as he disembarked, he reiterated, “Your Bible has the power to call on heaven’s armies, don’t ever forget that.” As he left I wondered whether the Lord had allowed me to meet this old broken man so that he would echo this powerful testament on my life.

It is true that often we forget the power that manifests from the knowledge of, and interaction with God. Wherever you may be today, may you be reminded of the amazing power that is available to those who call on the Lord. Call on Him and His armies today.
