Ignore the critics

-

Matthew 11 vs 18 - 19 NIV “For John came neither eating or drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and “sinners”.’ But wisdom is proved right by her actions.”

God often calls us to tasks that seem bigger than our capabilities. He stretches us beyond what we think is possible. As you carry out His assignment, it always comes with critics, scrutiny, and attacks. There are people who are not going to be for you, no matter what you do. There will always be naysayers who will try to prevent you from doing what the Lord has called you to do.

They will use everything possible to deem you unfit for the calling you have; your past, your background, your qualifications, your social status, even your mistakes. But through it all you need to remember whose you are and who called you. The enemy wants you to think that you are not good enough. Do not believe those lies.

You don’t need people’s approval to do the Lord’s work. Don’t allow critics to make you doubt yourself or lose focus. If God calls you, He will equip you. He will give you the grace and the tools to do His work. They may try to bring you down but God will elevate you. Remain focused on God and your mission, He will help you.

You are not perfect, but all God requires is your service, obedience, and faith. The same way He gave Esther courage to go before the king and equipped Moses to deliver His people, He will give you the courage and strength.
