One Money discount for Bosso, Caps match

- Sikhumbuzo Moyo

FANS will pay half the normal entry charges for this Sunday’s potentially explosive Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match between Highlanders and Caps United if they pay using mobile payment One Money.

The fans will pay $2,50 and the other $2,50 will be paid by NetOne.

Gate charges for the blockbuster encounter are pegged at $5 for the rest of ground, $10 for the wings and $20 VIP, setting the minimum entry fees for One Money users at $2.50.

“Good news from the #TheOneTheOnly! Get your ticket for half the price when you pay using @OneMoneyZW for the @ HighlandersBosso and @capsunitedfczw match,” NetOne announced through its official Twitter account.

The initiative was first launched last season when the two sides clashed at the National Sports Stadium, with NetOne marketing executive Elderette Shereni telling the media that the idea was to lure fans to the stadium and assured other key stakeholders, the Premier Soccer League, Sports and Recreation Commission and Zifa, that they would get their full dues since the mobile network operator would pay the other half.

With the league season still in its infancy and fans eager to see their teams in action, the move by the telecoms operator will likely result in a packed Barbourfields Stadium.

Meanwhile, NetOne has further spiced up the encounter by calling on fans to predict the score line, with various prizes on offer for the lucky few.

“Predict & win. Correctly predict the scoreline between @NetOneCellular sponsored teams @HighlanderBosso vs @ capsunitedfczw slated for Sunday 7 April 2019 at Barbourfields Stadium and stand a chance to win NetOne merchandise. #HandeiTione #AsambeSibone,” twitted NetOne.

The mobile network operator recently doubled its sponsorship package for the two clubs from $350 000 to $700 000 and announced a number of perks for the players.

“We will be rewarding things like hat-tricks, clean sheets for a certain number of matches and top goalscorers at an individual player level because we want to improve the level of football and the level of competition. We feel that if we put that sweetener, the players themselves will improve their game and make football interesting for all of us,” said Shereni during the unveiling of the sponsorship deals in Harare last week.
