Kangwa predicts Bosso win
TANZANIA-based former Highlanders utility player Bruce Kangwa has predicted a win for the Bulawayo giants when they collide with Caps United in a blockbuster Castle Lager Premier Soccer League encounter at Barbourfields Stadium this Sunday.
Kangwa, who turns out for Azam in the Tanzanian top league, predicted a 1-0 win for Bosso against a buoyant Green Machine that got off to a flying start with a 2-0 win over league debutants Manica Diamonds. Bosso chalked a one-all draw against bogey side, Black Rhinos.
“I would like to wish the boys all the best against Caps United on Sunday. We all know that playing against Caps United is never a minor thing from the training right up to match day. The game itself motivates everyone, literally everyone, so the players must go out there and do their best, do anything to win this game. I know you can make it,” said Kangwa in a message posted on Highlanders’ official Twitter page.
His last goal for Highlanders was coincidentally against Caps United on July 17, 2016, when Bosso won 1-0, which is one of only two wins in the last 10 matches that Bosso have registered over the Green Machine.
The other win was a 4-0 mauling that Makepekepe received on May 4, 2014. Caps United have five wins over Bosso, with their biggest being the return leg in 2014 when they pummelled Highlanders 4-0. The other three encounters ended in draws, with their clashes last season producing no goals.
Kangwa also appealed to the Highlanders’ loyalists to pack Emagumeni to the brim on Sunday as their presence has a huge motivational effect on the team.
“To the supporters I say let’s go and support the boys, let’s go in numbers because lina ngokwenu as supporters you motivate those boys, you are the 12th man that the boys need so once again all the best to the team, I know you can make it. My prediction is a 1-0 win for Bosso,” said Kangwa.
The match will be an emotional return to Barbourfields Stadium for former Highlanders’ players Newman Sianchali and Gabriel Nyoni, who crossed the floor to join Caps United.
Nyoni recently said that he wondered what it would feel like to play at Barbourfields Stadium while putting on a different jersey colour.
Meanwhile, Highlanders have assured fans that they will open more entry points to use for the OneMoney payment method in anticipation of a bumper crowd as a result of NetOne’s decision to meet the other half of the entry fees fans will pay.
“We will certainly have more gates specifically for that payment method and the actual points and number of those gates will be made known soon after our pre-match meeting well in time ahead of the game on Sunday,” said club chief executive officer Nhlanhla Dube.
