Seek wholeness

-

“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”

Psalm 51 : 10

The old adage goes, “Hurt people hurt people.” Have you ever been around a person who lashes out and reacts negatively to the smallest of situations? So many people are walking around carrying the weight of emotional damage from past hurts and they tend to inflict their pain on those around them, half the time without realising it or meaning to. For as long as you are unhealed, you view everything - the world, family, friends, and even yourself, through the lens of your own self-consciousness and pain.

Unhealed wounds create bitterness and insecurities that are not founded in truth, resulting in you pushing people away and finding it difficult to be positive about anything, you are stuck in a perpetual cycle of brokenness and hopelessness. A tree is known by its fruits.

No matter how big a bible you carry, how wide your smile is or how hard you try to pretend or portray a certain image, it’s what comes out of your mouth and your actions that reveal what’s in your heart. Nothing ever comes out that never went in. So if you are constantly angry, overreacting and suspicious of everyone’s intentions, it may be time for some honest introspection; you have to face and deal with the root of the problem.

Seek healing from whatever hurt you in the past, seek forgiveness and peace. Renew your mind and let the word of God convert you from a lemon tree to an orange tree. Nothing is impossible with God. Don’t allow pain and unforgiveness to make you bitter and to have power and control over your life and how it turns out. Choose to transform your pain instead of transferring it. Seek wholeness from the Lord and He will restore you and turn your mess into a message.

Be blessed
