IN HARARE, on 10/10/20 a man (32) was fatally assaulted by a mob after he tried to rob a woman of her cellphone. The man also threatened to rape one of the woman’s daughters who managed to run away. Investigations into the matter are in progress. #notocrime.
THE BODY of a woman (20) was discovered on 10/10/20 in an advanced state of decomposition on a stream bank in Concession with hands tied with a white cloth. The woman left home on 01/10/20 going to Glendale and the motive behind the murder is not yet known. #notocrime.
FIVE robbers robbed a tuckshop in Domboshava on 9/10/20 and got away with cellphones, cash, bread and cigarettes valued at ZW$11 400.00. One of the robbers has since been arrested and property valued at ZW$400.00 recovered. The other suspects are still at large. #notocrime.
A TOYOTA Passo valued at US$4 000.00 which was stolen in Harare on 1/9/20 was recovered by police in Ruwa on 10/10/20. Luke Tinotenda Macheka (25) was arrested in connection with the case. #notocrime.
A MAN (30) was arrested on 10/10/20 in Harare for a case of murder which he committed in 2018. The man murdered his wife after a misunderstanding and had gone into hiding. #notocrime.
TWO armed robbers were arrested on 10/10/20 in Harare. A Vizor pistol with erased serial numbers was recovered in Chitungwiza near Manyame River. The two are part of a notorious gang which was arrested last month. #notocrime.
THREE people were killed while 6 were injured on 10/10/20 at the 90km peg along Chivhu – Roy Road when a Scania truck sideswiped a VW Panel Van after encroaching onto the lane of oncoming traffic.
The VW Panel Van veered off the road and overturned several times before landing on its wheels.
IN Byo on 10/10/20 a pedestrian was struck by a motorist driving a red Honda Fit vehicle which did not stop after the accident. The victim sustained injuries on the right leg and shoulder.
In a related incident, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a motorist who was trying to avoid a donkey. The victim, a woman who was wearing a black dress with white and red flowers, died upon admission at Mpilo Hospital. #notoroadtrafficaccidents.
A MAN (42) of Mt Darwin who tried to break into a homestead on 3/10/20 was assaulted after the occupant called for help. The man later died on 10/10/20 and a report was made to police who managed to arrest one of the accused persons involved in the assault now turned murder.
IN Plumtree, on 9/10/20, a man (25) who was drinking beer at a shopping centre had a misunderstanding with another man over an undisclosed matter. He was stabbed with a knife on the chest and died on the spot.
His assailant has since been arrested and the okapi knife was recovered hidden in the thatched roof of his bedroom hut. #notocrime.
AN Esigodini man (39) was fatally assaulted by five men after he had earlier on engaged in a fistfight with one of the men on 8/10/20. Two of the men have since been arrested.
In a related incident which occurred in Byo on 8/10/20, a 22-year-old man was also fatally assaulted by seven men after having a misunderstanding over payment of wages. The man’s friend was also severely assaulted. Six of the suspects have been arrested. #notocrime
13 people were arrested in Matusadonha for prospecting for gold without a permit on 9/10/20. Shovels, water pumps, picks and pipes used for the illegal mining activities were recovered. #notocrime
POLICE in Kadoma are investigating a case of murder where some masked men and a woman forced their way into a house where they demanded some dagga on 10/10/20. When told that there were no drugs, the men shot the owner of the house on the neck and fled into the darkness.
The man later died on 11/10/20 due to the injuries. #notocrime
THREE people were arrested on 10/10/20 after police received a report that they were allocating land illegally in Matobo. The accused persons will appear in court soon to answer charges of allocating land without lawful authority. #notocrime
POLICE in Chivhu arrested an adult man (26) behind a spate of theft from motor vehicle cases along the Harare-Masvingo highway. Various property including clothes, electrical gadgets and other valuables worth US$13 000 were recovered.
Police is holding some of the property pending identification by the complainants. #notocrime
SIX male adults escaped from Esikhoveni Quarantine centre in Esigodini on 11/10/20, around 0030 hours. According to the supplied addresses, the six come from Madlambuzi, Gwanda and Plumtree areas.#notocovid-19
