TINO’S DELIGHT :

...striker on debut Lyon goal

- Blessing Malinganiza

Tino Kadewere finally scored for Lyon yesterday and is hopeful that there are more to come.

The Lyon striker’s goal was the opener in the 12th minute of their 3-2 win over Strasbourg.

“I am happy to finally score for the first time in a league game. It was long overdue and I have been waiting for this opportunity in every game that I have played here.

“I am so happy to have scored an opener and I can’t really explain how I am feeling but it’s amazing to have done that for my team.

“I have been training hard to play well for my team and I have been given that opportunity by the coach so I am happy to have repaid the faith to some extent.

“As a player I wish to do more or maybe score more if there are chances of me scoring because as a striker I am expected to score.

“I hope that I will keep the scoring form,” he said.

Kadewere was shown a yellow card in the 20th minute and was substituted in the 64th by Moussa Dembele. He added that he wants to do more for his team. “There are still more games to play and that means more chances for me to score.

“Like I said when I came here that I want to do better and also prove my worth to the team.

“I also want the team to do well and will also do my best in doing all I can for the team.”

Kadewere joined Lyon from Le Havre last season. “I am enjoying being here and I am hoping for the best as time goes on.

“Right now I am just looking forward to enjoy this season and have a great time in the French League.

“Like any other player I just want the team to do well and I want to do better than last season. I also want to continue with my good form because people want to see if I am consistent,” he said.

“Getting a place in the team is not so difficult if you just work hard. If you dedicate yourself and work hard

getting a place in the team will not be hard for you.

“So far I haven’t reached my goal because I am still way short on my targets”

“I also aim to prove my worth in this team. Like any other club, one has to prove himself to be here,” he said.

“The target is still the same. The target is obviously to try and improve in each and every game.

“I am happy we seem to be on the right track and at the same time the whole idea is for us to remain as competitive as we can, and at the same time win as many games as possible,” he said.
