Pfumbidzai’s winning return

RONALD PFUMBIDZAI says he is delighted to feature in his first competitiv­e game after being out for nine months.

The Bloemfonte­in Celtic star had an assist in their 1-0 win over Sundown’s in the MTN 8 Cup.

“I am happy to play my first game because when I was injured, I was in too much pain.

“There I was a time I thought maybe I will not be able to play again, but I want to thank God that I am back and I was able to put up a good performanc­e.

“And to come back and start the game against a big team is a good feeling and I’m also happy that I’m now 100 percent fit,” he said.

He added: “As a player I am excited to be part of his great team so I hope that I will be able to do what I am expected of as a player.

“I’m happy with the form that I started in and I want to keep that till the rest of the season.

“It always feels great if you do something good for your team because you will also be proving your worth.

“I have been trying to work hard so that I get to play well for my team and I thank the coach for trusting me in this game and for giving me that opportunit­y by the coach.

“As a player I wish to do more for the club. I also hope that I will keep on being in the form that I am right now,” he said.

The former CAPS United star says he is trying his level best at his club though he hasn’t met his targets.

“Everyone puts his level best because we are a team of great players who can do a great job for the team, that’s what I’ve also been trying to do.

“We are players who want to do their best for the team. We believe in our team and we know what we are capable.

“I know it’s not easy but I promise to do my best and will just do all I am required to do as a player, if given a chance to play.

“If I play I will make sure that I put maximum effort in helping the team achieve their goals and success,” he said
