BOSS KISS RELEASES NEW ALBUM

- H-Metro Reporter

UNHERALDED sungura musician Jonathan Kisi has released a single titled “Chimamuna” which coincided with his 43rd birthday.

Simply known as Boss Kisi in his circles, the Bromely Farm based singer’s single off his forthcoming “Zvashe Hazvipere” is a must-listen for old and new sungura lovers.

It was recorded at Trutone Studios and produced by Jabulani Ndlovu.

In an interview, the father of five said the single was a precursor to his forthcoming album “Zvashe Hazvipere”.

“I have been doing music for some time now and I have three albums to my name comprising Kuratidzana Zvishandwa which was recorded in 2014, Nashe Tinosvika (2015) and Zvinoitwa Nashe (2017).

“Then my forthcoming album titled “Zvashe Hazvipere” is on the pipeline as we speak.

“It is my wish that it will be released before year-end as we are looking forward to a better project.

“It’s a project which will usher people into the Christmas mood if we beat the deadlines we have,” she said.

Like most sungura artistes, Bosi Kisi said he was affected by the Covid-19 lockdown which has seen public gatherings being banned.

“We used to hold a number of shows before Covid-19, but all has been suspended as we await the green light to hold shows.

“Life has not been easy for most of us who relied on shows, but we had to devise new means of survival like what has been done by other musicians and artistes outside there.

“As it stands, we are hopeful Civid-19 won’t affect us for a long time because we will be crippled,” he said.

Boss Kisi, who is the group’s lead vocalists, has a band made up of gifted instrumentalist with experience in sungura.

These are drummer Barna Mandipota, Naison Tembo (bass guitarist), Albert Gatsi (lead guitarist) and Robert Lapton, who plays the main rhythm.
