DINO, WILLOM REUNITE IN JOZI
DINO MUDONDO and Willom Tight last weekend reminded fans that they are still a force to reckon with after they gave a top drawer performance at a private event in Krugersdorp town west of Johannesburg.
The two treated guests to a number of their yesteryear hits such as Ndinoda Wangu, Ndichakumirira, Chirangano Chedu, Makoikoi and Jatropha, among others.
The event was a birthday party for music promoter Oliver Noruware.
The intimate event was graced by promoters and socialites that included Elson Jaricha and Felistas Chizororo, among others.
“We are still in the game and you know with music you can never say you have retired. I last met Willom in March and it has been a good experience to rekindle the good old days,” said Mudondo, who is still basking in the glory of his latest album No Lumo.
“I have been friends with Dino for over two decades and we always encourage each other. 2020 has been a bad year due to Covid-19 and we really were looking forward to releasing music together. It’s still on the cards and we promise it will be better than whatever we have ever
released before,” added Willom, who is father to crooner Gary Tight.
The night ended with another explosive performance by young and often controversial artiste Platinum Prince.
The artiste is in South Africa and will be in the studio in the coming weeks.
Party host Noruware commended the artistes for taking their time to attend the event.
“Due to the lockdown, things have been tough for both artistes and their fans. Since the lifting of the lockdown, we just thought it would be a good idea to meet and be merry once again. We will start promoting new shows once we are sure the coronavirus is under control,” said Noruware, who has promoted the likes of Alick Macheso, among many other artistes.
