- H-Metro Reporter

UEBERT ANGEL FOUNDATION is targeting to help at least five million vulnerable people by next year as part of its philanthropic works.

Popularly known as Spirit Embassy Church founder, Prophet Angel is also a businessman based in the UK and launched the foundation to fulfil his role as a humanitarian.

This year, the foundation has been donating food to the needy across the country.

“The foundation is not only on the ground helping with food, but also helping schools, universities and students on tuition and other challenges. The foundation continues doing food distribution every week until the yearend.

“The target is to help at least five million people all over the country by 2021. The foundation’s aim is to alleviate poverty in Zimbabwe by taking a first step on assisting the less-privileged,” read a statement from the foundation.

On Monday, Uebert Angel Foundation contributed to First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa and her Angel of Hope Foundation’s efforts in empowering vulnerable communities.

Represented by Angel’s wife, Beverly, they donated 10 tonnes of maizemeal to Angel of Hope Foundation for onward distribution to the needy.

Amai Mnangagwa, whose work benefits the vulnerable both in urban and rural areas, said the support from Uebert Angel Foundation came at the right time.

“I would want to welcome this gesture and that it came at the time when I needed this most. Uebert Angel is also a foundation and they understand what a foundation is expected to

do. They have come on board to assist me and this is going to go a long way in terms of helping our people in need out there in the country. We are saying everybody who is in need should not be left behind,” she said.

She added: “I want to thank the Uebert Angel Foundation for this donation of maize-meal which will be utilised towards supporting vulnerable families in rural communities. This is a huge gesture, which will scale up our activities as Angel of Hope Foundation as we respond to the chal

lenges that are facing many, especially vulnerable women, children and the elderly.”

Better known as Prophetess Bebe, Beverly Angel, who flew from her base in the UK, said they were touched by the love Amai Mnangagwa has for the less-privileged.

“First of all, I would want to really appreciate our highly esteemed First Lady for everything that she has been doing. It hasn’t gone unnoticed. We have seen all her efforts to really push charity in our country. We all love our country and she has really been in the forefront and we are following her footsteps on so many things she has done.

“Some people might not know, but Amai has done so much for the country and her Angel of Hope is really doing so well,” she said.

She added that they intend to complement what the First Lady is doing for the needy countrywide.

“Every week she is in a different part of the nation, even in the most remote parts of the nation some of them I didn’t even know existed. She is going to all those places.

“We have been inspired by her and what she has been doing. It is not about a particular church or political

party, it is just about helping people and that is where mhamha’s heart is.”

The co-founder of Spirit embassy worldwide churches was so excited to meet the First Lady.

“We are so grateful and honoured to meet you mhamha, we have seen the great work you have been doing helping the needy and the great work you are doing with your foundation.

“Myself and my husband love helping people, it is a calling we answered to, so when we saw the work you have been doing for the less fortunate and with your foundation we were so moved. We have brought with us few bags of mealie meal, may you continue with the good work you are doing helping people.”

The Uebert Angel foundation was in Mufakose and Kambuzuma on Sunday and has now visited 62 different places throughout Zimbabwe, donating mealie meal and foodstuff.

Some of the areas where the foundation has already distributed mealie meal and groceries include Plumtree, Honde Valley, Dema, Mutare, Bulawayo, Zaka Masvingo, Highfield, Glen View, Glen Norah, Mbare, Budiriro, Chitungwiza, Zaka, Chiredzi, Norton, Harare South, Gokwe, and Hatfield.
