‘Champions League a CV boost’

- Chioniso Mashakada

ZIMBABWE international defender Jimmy Dzingai is set for his maiden dance in the CAF Champions League campaign following his move to Zambian champions, Nkana FC.

Dzingai joined Nkana on a two-yearcontract following the expiry of his contract at Power Dynamos.

Nkana claimed a 13th Super League title in August, extending their record as the most successful club in the Zambian league.

The development means the former Yadah player will have a run in the 2020-21 CAF Champions League campaign.

The Warriors defender believes the move to Nkana is a great achievement. “Moving to Nkana from Power Dynamos is a great achievement for me considering that Nkana is one of the biggest clubs in the Zambian league and also well known in Africa.

“I am very much excited and want to thank God for this opportunity. It’s not because of my ability to but His Grace. I believe it’s God who located me here,” he said.

“I’m confident Nkana will help me create a great CV since I will be able to play against big clubs in Africa like Mamelodi Sundowns and TP Mazembe,” he added.

Dzingai promised Nkana fans memorable moments.

“Kalampa fans, expect positive output from me. Hard work will be the order of the day, so expect some happy moments ahead this season.

“Signing for Nkana is a great move for me since the Reds are playing in CAF. This will enrich my CV,” said Dzingai.

Announcing the signing, Nkana said: “Jimmy Dzingai is officially a Kalampa. Please welcome the Zimbabwean international and now former Power Dynamos centre-back defender to the family. The towering defender has signed a two-year contract with Nkana FC.”

Dzingai arrived in Zambia in 2018 from Yadah.
