Loga trims Warriors squad

- Blessing Malinganiza

Warriors coach Zdravko Logarusic has trimmed the national team squad for CHAN to 23 players who are expected to resume training this week.

The squad was expected to be in camp on Sunday evening at Pandhari where they have been staying. A 34-member locally-based squad started camp in early December before breaking for Christmas last week.

Warriors team-manager Wellington Mpandare said the squad selected is almost final unless there are late injuries.

“A squad of 23 players is getting into camp today (Sunday). The final list has to be submitted 10 days before the start of the tournament.

“There will be no changes unless an injury occurs,’’ said Mpandare. The team is slated to leave for Cameroon on 10 January for the tournament which kicks off on 16 January.

The Warriors are in Group A with the hosts Cameroon, Burkina Faso and Mali.
