- Lutrish Gandawa

FOR many young music lovers, the name Nox might not easily come to mind, but this erstwhile artiste has a lot to be remembered for in the local music arena.

Top of the list being his seemingly exit track, Ndinonyara, after which the talented artiste seemed to have backed out of the limelight for a while.

The year 2020 saw him release the track Melody, in which he collaborated with South African star Master KG.

The track was an immediate hit.

Born Enock Guni on September 6, 1983, Nox is a singer, songwriter, performer. He started his musical career in 2002.

At the time he was a marketing student with Midlands State University.

He was spotted by Roy and Royce while working with SHAPE Zimbabwe. It was then that he released his first hit single Iwe Maria, which topped the charts across radio and television channels that whole year.

He was to release his first full album the following year. It was titled, Wandipengesa.

To date, Nox has 10 albums to his name and a whole list of singles he has collaborated on with numerous artistes both locally and regionally. The artistes include Trevor Dongo, Alexio Kawara, Mudiwa, Cindy, Seh Calaz and Jah Prayzah. He also collaborated with Makhadzi.

Dubbed King of the Urban Grooves by fans, Nox is still a favourite among local and regional fans.

In 2009, he released an album titled Music, Love and Me, which featured the track Wandinoda. The track was singled out by SONY Music Africa and was to later be used as a soundtrack by MNET for the popular reality show Big Brother.

Nox is back in action and actively working on resuscitating his musical career as a singer, as he had been working as a producer alongside his brother, Tyfah.
