ZRP crime watch update
Police in Harare are investigating circumstances surrounding a case of assault on a member of the ZRP and defeating the course of justice which occurred on 19/01/21 in Mufakose where 2 members of the CID Drugs and Narcotics were on duty.
They arrested 2 suspects for possession and dealing in dagga then 11 suspects emerged, forced the officers to release the arrested suspects and exhibits, and attacked one of the police officers with an iron bar.
Members of the public are advised to adore the rule of law and refrain from disturbing the law enforcement officers on their constitutional mandate.
On 18/01/21 at about 01:00 hours, 9 unknown suspects who were armed with pistols and iron bars attacked a security guard at a business complex in Msasa where they broke into various shops and stole cash amounting to USD27 523 and various property valued at about USD290.
Investigations are in progress and anyone with information to contact the nearest station.
Police in Byo are investigating circumstances surrounding a hit and run fatal RTA which occurred on 19/01/21 where an unknown motorist hit an unknown male pedestrian opposite Latter Day Saints Church along Matopos Road, Famona.
Meanwhile, Police in Harare are looking for Tinashe NFPK who fatally hit a male pedestrian [59] whilst driving a yellow Toyota Hiace along Paisley Road near ZBC Mbare Studios, Hre. Anyone with information to contact the nearest station.
On the same note, Police in Mashonaland East arrested a Chivhu man on 18/01/21 for fraudulently producing travelling exemption letters with a company logo of a local entity which he once worked for.
The ZRP reiterates its call for Zimbabweans to take heed of the Governments’ Covid-19 curfew order and co-operate with law enforcement officers as they ensure compliance.
Arrests will be effected on anyone who disregards the order by any means. It is disturbing to note that on 19/01/2021 a total of 2 911 people were arrested for disregarding Covid-19 regulations with 1 402 suspects being arrested for unnecessary movements.
A Harare woman (26) was on 18/01/21, arrested in Hatfield for unlawfully terminating a 5 month pregnancy and buried the foetus near her place of residence. Investigations are in progress
Investigations are underway in a case of rape which occurred in Hillside, Harare on 17/01/21 during the evening where 4 suspects who were driving a Honda Fit took turns to rape a girl (17) who was walking past Hillside Park.

Police in Matebeleland South are investigating circumstances surrounding a case of rape which occurred in Madlambuzi on 25/12/20 during the night where a suspect allegedly confronted 6 individuals on their way from a nearby business centre, robbed 2 of them of ZAR300 and released them.
He then held hostage the remaining victims comprising of 3 girls (19, 20, 17) and a male child (10) before raping the girls and threatening them with death.
