TEEN MODEL TACKLES GBV
EIGHTEEN-YEAR-OLD model Mufaro Tinago has an ambition to unite young people of both sexes towards ending Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
The young lad, whose love for modelling started at 14, admits 2021 has started on a sad note but vows to pursue his dreams.
The school going model dreams to address gender related issues.
“My vision is to extend to gender related issues, particularly gender-based violence.
“It is my ambition to unite youths of both sexes towards ending gender-based violence and to also educate youths on the effects of this destructive act. Tinago notes that the year started on a sad note. “2021 has started sadly with the ravaging Covid19.
“But despite all that I am looking forward to carrying on from what I achieved last year.
“2020 was also a tough year for most people but as young leaders we have been trying to help as much as we can.
“We are currently running a ‘million kids’ campaign in which so far we have distributed food, clothes and sports kits to many children in the most impoverished areas of Zimbabwe.
“We went to Mhuriimwe children’s home to spend sometime with them and distributed food and clothes to them,” he said.
Tinago has always wanted to be a model from a tender age.
“I started modelling when I was 14 and my first award was in 2016 which was for the most promising kid model.
“In 2018 l was the best teen model which motivated me to start distributing food and clothes to children.
“Although 2020 was a tough year, I tried my best to give them my support and love and in the same year I won the Best Teen Talented Model.”
He is also contesting for Mr Teen Zimbabwe which is currently running via online platforms.
He is also passionate about making sure that all sports and clubs like, tag rugby, hockey, cricket among others reach vulnerable children.
