NHETE DECRIES COVID-19 DEATHS
SOUTH AFRICA-BASED gospel artiste Psalmist George Nhete reckons death is a thief which has robbed people of their plans, writes Trust Khosa.
The 35-year-old, who also doubles as a property developer, said death is the only proven threat which can derail people’s plans.
The Mhondoro-born prince of praise and worship opened up in the new song titled Untimely Death.
It is also relevant during these trying times when the world is reeling to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I would like to express my gratitude to fans who have embraced my latest single titled Untimely Death, which happens to be a teaser to my upcoming album due for release in March.
“I already have two albums namely Rimwe Rainzi Handifi and Rimwe Richinzi Nditendeuke that I released in 2020 on the same day and this single is just a precursor to the third album.
“It was launched here on the 17th of January 2021 and I’m now looking forward to releasing a full album beginning of March,” he said.
Psalmist Nhete said the single was relevant in these trying times since it also educates people on the importance of playing our part to prevent contracting killer diseases.
“The song is about encouraging people to be careful and to observe all health requirements to avoid catching life threatening diseases.
“We say Untimely Death
is a song that was sang encouraging people to be careful about life and declaring that we shall grow old and see the next generations,” he said.
On his third album due for release in March, he explained:
“The album to be released in March is called Sound Mind, and carries eight tracks namely the title track
Sound mind, Untimely death, Chipatara, Time, Wanano, Zvakwana and
Adonai.
“I do expect two videos in March, I have arranged for both to be launched one day because I felt that I am very much behind, I feel like I have too much to share within a short period of time.
“I have invested a lot on this album and I hope it will be of superior quality worth the purchase and wait”
Psalmist Nhete is one of the consistent gospel artistes plying his trade across the Limpopo where he has managed to build some synergies with Zimbabwean musicians resident there.
He is also a preacher and church leader whose services are streamed live on various social media
platforms.
