MHLOPHE LAUNCHES MANIFESTO
Highlanders Chairman Kenneth Mhlophe is confident that elections at the club will take place despite being postponed to an unknown date.
Mhlophe, who is seeking a second threeyear term as the chairman on Thursday launched a manifesto running under the theme #MHLOPHE4BOSSOCHAIR Let’s walk the talk.
In the manifesto are things he has done for the club, what he’s doing and what he’s looking forward to do.
What we have done
. Leverage on highlanders broad based internal partnership with members,chapters, executive and the board
. Financial discipline which resulted in the legacy debt not increasing.
. Strengthened relations with supporters and stakeholders which ended up with the legacy debt being cleared in a campaign led by SA chapter and payment of salaries and expenses of all expatriate coaches
. Acquisition of gold mining claim for the club
. Won Chibuku in 2019
. For the first time in history managed to recover development fees from former junior players who were sold by other teams
. Going back to our roots with appointment of Madinda Ndlovu who had a mandate of rebuilding the team from home grown talent
. Got a sponsor to pay the revamping of all our sports grounds so that all the team from juniors to the first team will train there
. Raised funds from stakeholders and managed to pay salaries when there was no income from football after the termination of the Netone sponsorship
. Obtained sponsorship from Arenel for water and drinks, Sanctuary insurance came on board, repaired and repainted the Toyota minibus for our junior teams
. Negotiated and concluded a three year kit sponsorship worth USD 300 000 with on the ball.
What we are doing
. Negotiating with potential joint venture partners for mining project
. Finalising negotiations with a kit sponsor for all junior teams up to Bosso 90.
What we want to do
. Commence mining activities that will give the team financial stability
. Employ qualified and experienced junior coaches to spearhead the development programmes that will produce world class players
.Commence work in hotel California through our proven internal strong partnership
. Make Hghlanders more competitive in the league championship and participate in continental competitions again
. Strengthening and capacitating the secretariat in compliance with the Fifa club licensing
. Conclude various sponsorship to avoid reliance on a single sponsor.
