REVAI SHIFTS FOCUS
Super flyweight champion Revai Madondo is now shifting focus to her upcoming WBF international fight set for April this year.
This comes after Madondo, 25, defeated Tanzanian Stumai Muki through a unanimous decision on Friday in Dar-es-Salam, Tanzania.
The match was an elimination bout and the winner now faces Argentinian Mariela Ribera Vaverde in a WBF international fight.
“I am so happy. This was my first time fighting outside Zimbabwe and I won.
“It’s a confidence booster for me. And I am now looking forward to the next big match in my career,” she says.
Madondo, who fights under the Delta force Academy, is now sitting on five fights with three wins and two defeats.
She is hoping to improve on her winning record.
Delta Force Academy director and trainer Clyde Musonda who accompanied Madondo to Tanzania said he is impressed with Madondo’s determination and tips her for greatness.
“A win away from home is very important considering that the opponent had home advantage, fans and officials. This just shows that my player was so focused.
“And also as her trainer and manager it shows that I am grooming a champion and her future is bright, it’s a great feeling,” he said.
Musonda said they have since been advised that they will host the WBF title if they have the capacity.
“I’m going to talk to my manager so that we can host the tournament. It’s every boxer’s dream to become a champion so I will work hard to make her dream come true here at home,” he said.
