Keen Marshall engages Willom Tight

SOUTH AFRICA-BASED upcoming Afro-fusion musician Keen Marshall Nhemachena has collaborated with Willom Tight on his new song titled Ndiwe.

The conscious song, which was inspired by love, preaches about having strong bonds in marriages and having unity, love and living happily as families.

The song was produced by Elijah Zinyemba of Platinum Records.

In an interview with H-Metro, Nhemachena said:

“The idea of having a collaboration first came when we met at Platinum Records during lockdown when we were doing live Facebook sessions.

“I was really excited to meet him after a long time, but we didn’t really have a personal relationship that he could remember.

“Before we went live, we had a good acoustic session performing his song Ndinoda Wangu then we agreed on a collaboration.

“The idea of the collaboration became even more serious after listening to some of my new songs.

“We organised to work on the collaboration as soon as it was possible, unfortunately he had to travel back to Zimbabwe.”

Added Nhemachena: “I almost gave up on it because I had run out of funds due to financing my album and organising the album launch.

“When he got to Zimbabwe, he texted asking what was up with the song, that’s when I realised I had to make a plan despite the challenges.

“We agreed to work online, so I composed the song and sent him a sample which he liked.

“Basically, we did the song online and it was really nice working with him because we already had a strong bond in person so we had to finish what we had started.”

In another interview, Willom Tight confirmed the collabo and hailed Nhema-chema for his talent.

“The song is a wonderful song. I like Keen as an artiste, he was raised at Pakare Paye and came out of the hands of the late Oliver Mtukudzi.

“I like his vocals, guitar approach and Zimbabwean feel of his music.

“I liked the song, it has so much depth and I really wanted to be part of it and that’s why I collaborated with him,” he said.
