I’m working with Ugandan stars: Big $ Bruce
PLATINUM Entertainment and The Volt emcee Big $ Bruce says he is utilising the lockdown to cement his “bromance” with African DJs.
Although he could not be drawn into revealing the names of the African stars, he said he was dreaming big.
“I might be a popular club emcee and DJ, but our industry requires that we learn from others in our game.
“I used to perform in South African universities where I created synergies and lately, I am working with African artistes and selectors from Uganda.
“It’s a project that I have been working on for the greater part of the lockdown,” he said.
Besides collaborations with other African artistes, the 30-year-old conceded that he was not spared by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I am trying my best to make ends meet from my savings, but the situation in the country is bad for us.
“There are some promoters who are still assisting us with food handouts and money, but the situation is not pleasing at all out there,” he said.
The Warren Park bred entertainer said lockdown has taught him to think outside the box.
“I have also realised that there are some of the things that I am good at, especially the buying and selling of basic commodities and anything on demand,” he said.
On the entertainment side, Big $ Bruce added:
“I really miss my job as an MC/DJ and being around the crowds doing what I do best.
“On a positive note, I am now spending much of my time developing my residential stand in Zimre, where I acquired a 350-square-metre residential stand,” he added.
