BILLIAT, PITSO SET FOR REUNION

- Sports Reporter

KHAMA BILLIAT is being linked with a possible reunion with former coach Pitso Mosimane. There are reports that three clubs are targeting the Zimbabwean. According to reports in South Africa, Mosimane’s Al Ahly, Zamalek and Pyramids are keen on signing the Warriors forward whose contract at Kaizer Chiefs expires this June.

Amakhosi, however, have an option to activate the player’s stay at Naturena with further twelve months.

Soccer Laduma, a South African media outlet, reported Billiat is a wanted man in Egypt.

“With his Kaizer Chiefs contract coming to an end on June 30, it is understood Al Ahly are among the sides on the continent keen on this services for a possible reunion with Pitso Mosimane, his former coach at Mamelodi Sundowns. Zamalek and Pyramids have also been linked with the Zimbabwean attacker.

“Amakhosi do have an option to extend Biliat’s stay at Naturena for another 12 months and sources at the club have suggested Chiefs will exercise it,” reported SL. Ahly, have been serious admirers of Billiat over the years but have failed to land him after the player opted to stay in Mzansi.

And now with Pitso at the club, there is a possibility the Warriors star might be heading north.

Billiat is reportedly the highest paid Amakhosi player with a package of around R8-million per annum (possibly more with bonuses).

That, however, cannot stop Ahly if they want him given their financial muscle.

The stumbling block at the moment, however, could be Billiat’s injury and the fact that he is more settled in the Premier Soccer League.

Billiat, 30, suffered a cracked leg bone earlier last month which has ruled him out for a minimum eight weeks and all but ruling out any possible move in this current transfer window.

It’s expected then that his future will be settled in the coming months - when he will be fully fit, but Amakhosi hold all the cards.
