MORE OPTIONS FOR RUSIKE

- Sports Reporter

SUPERSPORT United striker Evans Rusike has been linked with another club in the South African Premiership.

Rusike, who appears to be out of favour at Matsatsantsa, has been reported to be on his way to sign with former club Maritzburg United.

Reports from South Africa are also linking the Warriors forward with Amazulu.

According to Soccer Laduma, Benni McCarthy’s AmaZulu have been offered the attacker to beef up his squad before the transfer deadline.

“With the second transfer window of the 2020/21 season open until February 15, it’s now understood (Evans) Rusike has been offered to AmaZulu.

“He (Benni) might want to strengthen his team to help him consolidate a Top 4 finish as per his mandate from chairman

Sandile Zungu - and Rusike has been presented as an option,” read the report.

It has been reported that, Rusike could leave SuperSport United in search of a fresh start having not quite hit the heights expected when he joined the Tshwane outfit three years ago to replace Jeremy Brockie.

SuperSport, according to sources, are prepared to part ways with the Zimbabwe Warriors star, who is in the final six months of his contract.

Rusike made a surprise appearance at the weekend having last featured for SuperSport on December 19 in a 3-1 victory over Baroka, but sidelined in the next six games after.

He made a 10-minute cameo against Swallows at the weekend, but with his former team Maritzburg also believed to be keen on his services, Rusike could still leave Matsatsantsa.

And if he decides to join Amazulu, he will have fellow Zimbabweans Butholezwe Ncube and Talent Chawapiwa at Usuthu.
