BINGALA CLUB HUNTING
Zimbabwean midfielder Kelvin Bingala says he is working on getting a new club following the expiry of his contract at Zambian side Lumwana Radiants.
Bingala signed a one-year contract together with countryman Dominic Chungwa last year.
The former Herentals player said the focus is now on keeping fit while his agent works on securing a new club for him.
“I enjoyed my stay here in Zambia and I have leant a lot of things on and off the field which is going to help me in my career going forward.
“What is required from a foreigner at a team is perfomance above the locals. Fans always demand good perfomances on each game. Its quite challenging but it made me improve on my game for every game came with a new challenge.
“The high expectations from fans keeps me focused and the balance is also struck off the field. That means life outside football needs to be more disciplined,” he said.
Bingala said he can not disclose his future at the moment but is making sure he would be ready when he joins a new team.
“Now I am a free agent though I can’t disclose many things for now. I understand my duty is to play and my agent is working to get a club.
“It’s always my priority to be fit so I train everyday and I also take much care of what I eat,” he said.
He said he is ready to play in Zimbabwe again if a deal is reached.
“No one knows what the future holds, if it’s that I will be willing because this where I started. After all the Premier Soccer League remains a good league.
Before his departure to Zambia, Bingala had a good season with Herentals.
He helped the Students survive relegation, scoring six goals and assisted three times in the 2019 season.
