- Latwell Nyangu

BULAWAYO-BASED film producer Gift “Borntrouble” Wazvaremhaka is working on an actionpacked film titled Dead End.

Auditions for the film have already been conducted and production is underway.

The 28-year-old producer is popular for his book Pepukai, which was released in 2017.

He said the film was targeting local actors due to Covid19 restrictions.

“I am directing and producing Dead End, which is action-packed.

“It is expected to be launched by mid-June.

“The action film is a series with a number of Wishu, where martial artists both senior and junior masters are featuring,” he said.

Added Borntrouble: “A number of people have heeded the call to join the

film and among them are Skyzmetrofm drama actors like Nomvuyo Ndlovu, Fredrick Ncube, Eqond’indlela-skyzfmdrama, Lindiwe Ncube lmfihlo lezilingo-Skyzfmdrama and many

more.”

He bemoaned challenges bedevilling the film industry.

“The problem with Zimbabwean films is we lack finance for buying modern equipment, so we end up trapped into producing poor products.

“I hereby call for helping hands as we are targeting to make a name on this.

“It’s high time we ford the rivers and we are looking forward to take first three episodes to ZBC.

“The film is recorded at Skypper Movies, which is a fast growing movie house in Bulawayo.”

To his credit, Borntrouble has also published the book The Road to Sungano Apostolic Church and Zvine Marinda.

He took part in directing a local drama called Wakazvikanyira Wega in 2017 and well-known for playing the role of Mukuwasha.

Borntrouble also directed a number of skits such as Game yeMarasta, Bebi Remonya, Tambai Musha, Uncle Nino and No One is Perfect (still underway) among others.
