EPL top-four rivals’ remaining fixtures

-

THE race to qualify for the Champions League this season is hotting up, with as many as six teams still vying for the remaining two places — with Manchester United’s position fairly secure with an 11-point gap between themselves and the Europa League spots.

Premier League champions Liverpool are well within a shout of qualifying for the Champions League after their 3-0 win over Arsenal on Saturday.

The Reds walked the league last year, but are now sat two points below the top four in sixth place.

A dire spell of results has left them languishing below the top four, but with a Champions League quarter-final on the way they’re still in for an exciting end to the campaign.

Liverpool have a fairly favourable run-in, but will have to travel to second-placed Manchester United on May 1st in what will be their toughest match until the end of the campaign.

Leicester are looking on track to qualify, and are currently seven points ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham. However, Spurs are also still in the mix and Jose Mourinho, aiming to save his job by finishing in the top four, is under intense pressure to turn things around in north London.

Tottenham still have tough games ahead of them, with fixtures against United and Leicester — on the final day — still to come.

Chelsea also have a difficult run-in, with games against Manchester City, Arsenal and Leicester still to come. The Blues suffered defeat for the first time under Thomas Tuchel on Saturday as they fell to a 5-2 defeat at the hands of West Brom.

But from now until the end of the season they’ve got some difficult fixtures, as well as the distraction of the Champions League quarter-finals to be wary of. — Mirror.
