CHARAMBA SENDS WARNING

FORMER Ngezi Platinum forward Michael Charamba has sent a warning to local defenders saying “the wing will get busy” after completing his move to Chicken Inn.
The speedy winger is joining the Gamecocks on a two-year-deal following the expiry of his contract at Madamburo.
He conducted medicals yesterday and was expected to complete all the paperwork.
And speaking to H-Metro Sport
last night, he said he was expecting great things with the former champions.
“Yes it’s true, I have made the move. I just believe God has plans for my career and I’m really excited with the move.
“I am expecting great things to happen here. Chicken are a very ambitious and professional club. I am happy to be part of this team and I came here to improve and help the team win. The wing will get busy,” said Charamba.
The 24-year-old is coming from a long-term lay-off after suffering a knee injury in August 2019 in a league game against Chapungu United at Ascot in Gweru.
He said he is now fit and ready for the new season.
“I am now 100 percent healed by the blood of Jesus and as we were celebrating Easter, the resurrection of Christ also means resurrection of my career.
“I am ready to play and I don’t think it affected me much because the time I was recovering there was no activity in the country as we were under lockdown. So it came as an advantage somehow to me,” added Charamba.
The highly-rated forward is coming in as a replacement for veteran midfielder Clemence Matawu who has since retired.
Matawu has joined the Chicken Inn technical team as an administrator.
Charamba said he will not put himself under any pressure.
“I will not put myself under any pressure. I am going there to help the team and obviously get positive results,” he said.
He also expressed satisfaction with the return of football in the country.
Top-flight clubs have already started conducting Covid-19 tests for their playing staff and other members.
“The return of football obviously is good news to all the players and all stakeholders. I’m really looking forward to it and I’m working hard to be in good shape,” he said.
