AGGA BRAVES NYABINDE ILLNESS

- Trust Khosa

BOB “Headmaster” Nyabinde’s son Agga says his father’s battle with diabetes has emotionally drained him but he will not throw in the towel.

Agga, who turns 30 on August 29, last week comforted his dad with a refreshing single titled “Revai”.

The youthful crooner said while his father has been involved in the production side of the single despite ill-health he would not give up on music.

“My father’s illness has obviously affected me emotionally because I have been working with him over the years but I am happy with the support he is getting from close relatives, siblings and family.

“On this single which I recorded at Green Manatsa Studios, he passed through the studio and gave me his view point.

“He gave us some positive comments on what we needed to correct and did as he said to come up with a better project.

“It has been released and we are looking forward to start working on the visuals of the single,” he said.

The Way2Nice boss said he was now mature to be his own man but won’t ditch his father.

“Of course my father is a household name in jazz but people must start differentiate me from my father.

“I represent the new generation and I am glad that I am still building my empire with the help of my father.

“However, I would like to come out of the comfort zone and become my own man who would be remembered for his own brand,” he said. Unlike most of his peers grounded on Covid-19 induced lockdown, Agga said he was managing to make ends meet.

“Professionally, I am a marketer and I am managing to put the food on the table as a marketer with Zimpapers Television Network.

“I’m glad that I am doing what I learnt at school but music is also another calling I cannot resist,” he said.

The affable jazz youthful crooner said he was set to ink a deal with an online distribution company to market his wares virtually.

“It’s hard to imagine that we had to adjust as musicians since we used to reply on live shows which remain banned to contain the spread of Covid-19.

“We were looking forward to the opening of the creative sector but we will remain patient hoping for the Covid-19 cases to go down.

“In the meantime, we will continue observing the WHO regulations and I am so glad that my band members are now doing other things to supplement their earnings,” he added.
