THERE IS NO PLEASURE IN MURDER

-

TODAY we have a sad story of a fishmonger’s corpse that was found naked in a decomposing state near the shores of Lake Chivero.

While it is not clear why or how the fishmonger was killed, the fact is a murder was committed and we have been seeing a lot of murder cases in the country of late.

Whether they are armed robbers who kill their victims to avoid identification, or they are ritualists who murder to boost their businesses or they are lovers who are disgruntled enough to kill — the fact is people are being murdered and none of the aforementioned or other reasons can justify these acts.

Murder must simply not be an option. People must not look at murder as an option.

The problem is it is being seen as an option by many.

Some people actually think it is normal to kill someone.

Now it is common to read about people who murder, even mass murder at times, the same way we read about sports news or the weather report.

There is nothing strange about murder anymore and many are becoming accustomed to these heinous crimes to a scary extent.

Because if people start considering something as normal then they are saying they can also do the same thing, circumstances allowing.

Research has said people murder because they are “Chronically Aggressive, Cognitively rigid and inflexible, short tempered, easily frustrated, resentful to authority, traumatized, mentally challenged, paranoid” . . . the list is endless BUT the truth is people murder because they think murder is actually a solution to some problem, an option.

Research has shown that most people who kill believe violence and/or aggression are legitimate responses to various interpersonal problems in life — that is, if someone provokes you, you fight them. But that can only happen in an uncivilized society of savages.

Is anyone happy they committed murder? The answer is NO. All a murder does is leave one with regret and a wish to undo their deed. The stories we have serialised from the prisons are testimony to that.

Murdering someone is the worst decision those inmates ever made in their lives.

Nothing is worth killing for.

The media is never happy to report stories about death — no matter how exciting the circumstances leading to the death may be.

Killing someone is losing hope because you know from that moment you will either go to jail or live a tormented life.

Death is never a solution. Believing killing someone is sweet revenge is telling yourself a lie. Who can ever point at a happy murderer?

Who can ever show the world someone who is happy they killed another human being? There is no happiness in killing and it solves nothing.
