Sarupinda demands character

- Blessing Malinganiza

WARRIORS midfielder Blessing Sarupinda has demanded a positive mindset from his teammates ahead of today’s Cosafa Cup encounter against Malawi.

Zimbabwe are coming from a goalless draw in their opener against Mozambique. Kick Off is 12.

“Of course it’s a very tough game for the national team.

“But I expect a lot of discipline throughout, confidence and character from the team. Regardless, there is more than enough in the squad to produce results.

“We are ready for the encounter and we want to do our best in this tournament. We want to collect maximum points in this game since we didn’t manage to do that in the first,” said sarupinda.

He said the goal is to stay focussed. “And we have to stay strong and fully focused on the prize,” he said.

The CAPS United star fans to rally behind

“We just want people back home us. We really it, they should believe in us and know what we’re capable of doing.

We know they can’t come to watch us but we value it.

“And we will try as much not to disappoint them. “The support always goes very far for us and it’s an amazing job that they do,” he said.

On his view against their opponents he said:

“I feel it will be a very tough battle so all the players need to play their part in the game, of course and make sure we don’t lose concentration.

“I think they’ve been doing fairly well and have also great players. But we don’t fear them, we will just try to bring out A game and make sure that we do well for the coach who has shown his belief in us.

“We also want to do well for our fans and the country.

“My promise is to work hard in making sure that I help my team achieve its targets.”
