Chakoroma leaves Chicken Inn

- Bruce Chikuni

VETERAN midfielder Liberty Chakoroma has confirmed that he is no longer with Chicken Inn.

The 27-year-old joined Chicken Inn after parting ways with Ngezi Platinum in 2019.

And in an interview with H-Metro Sport yesterday, Chakoroma confirmed the development saying he is now prepar-ing for a new challenge.

“It is true; I am no longer a Chicken Inn player. I have shifted my focus to new challenges. I have had my ups and downs like any footballer and I want to use the experience that I have gained through the years to achieve something huge. Life was amazing, we parted ways like professionals. I will be forever grateful to those who presented me the privilege to don the Gamecocks jersey.

“They have great players in all departments who can fight in all fronts. The performance that the boys have displayed in Chibuku Super Cup can attest to what I am saying. At least I left with clean hands. It is not good to leave the club when all is not well,” said Chakoroma.

He added that a new deal is almost done.

“There are teams which have been following my progress lately. As we speak my next move is being processed, it is almost a done deal but I was advised not to divulge more information about that for obvious reasons.

“My dream is to win the Soccer Star of the Year award before I call it a day and I believe it will come true. I still have age on my side and I will try my best to have my name written in the Zimbabwe soccer history books amongst the greatest players,” he said.
