Conquering ED riddim on cards

- Trust Khosa

YOUTH Against Poverty founder, Terry Chakanyuka, has inked a deal with a local music stable in a ‘‘baking’’, a riddim titled Conquering ED Riddim, which supports President Mnangagwa for giving young people an ear.

The 24-year-old said the riddim, which is currently being done by Money Throwers Records in Waterfalls, was inspired by the President’s move to give Soul Love liberation hero status.

Chakanyuka said the President was indeed a listening leader who is determined to turnaround the country’s fortunes as well as empowering the young people.

“I was touched when President Mnangagwa gave Soul Jah Love befitting liberation hero status despite all the bad things that had been said about him.

“Chibaba was literally written off by many people who labelled him a thief, drug abuser, serial wife-basher and con artist.

“The President considered his talent and today we are still singing and dancing along to Chibaba’s music. Those who are doubting Chibaba’s talent need to be mentally examined,” he said. Chakanyuka whose organisation has since endorsed the President as the leader of choice said they feels honoured to have someone who has the young people at heart.

“To be honest with you, we are more than grateful to have President Mnangagwa who have the young people at heart and we saw it when we lost Soul Jah Love,” he added.

In another interview, Money Thrower Records boss Brian “Gallis” Mutede said they were inviting chanters to come and give support for the President.

“As the CEO and founder of Money Thrower Records, we feel honoured be doing something in support of our leader.

“This is a first of its kind, which has never been done before and we are really looking forward to a powerful riddim.

“Top chanters comprising Silent Killer, Jah Master, Soldier D, Chi Cde and King Kunta have since agreed to ride on the riddim. “Production work has since started and we are looking forward to a good working relationship with then,” he said.

Added Gallis: “We are still calling for more chanters to ride on the riddim with a target of 50 chanters. “Videos and medleys will also be done so that we give fans something to smile about. We want the riddim to be an anthem during the festive season.

“In short, this is a thanks giving product where were want to salute our President for the good deeds that he has done for us. “Surely our President deserves some genuine love.”
