CONNIE EXPECTED TODAY
SOUTH AFRICAN television personality, Connie Ferguson, jets in today ahead of her engagement at the Women in Business Conference powered by Nedbank.
Conference organiser and businesswoman, Zodwa Mkandla, confirmed the actress’ arrival.
“South African TV star Connie Ferguson will be arriving on her maiden visit to Zimbabwe tomorrow (today) afternoon ahead of three scheduled public engagements in Harare.
“The award-winning actress and businesswoman will be welcomed at the Robert Mugabe International Airport by organisers and journalists.
“A welcome dinner gala in her honour will be held on Friday night at the Meikles Hotel as part of a high-level networking event with different stakeholders,” she said.
Zodwa was optimistic Ferguson will add value at the conference where she is expected to address guests tomorrow.
Similar sentiments were echoed by Nedbank Head of Marketing and Publicity, Mary-Anne Kwidini, who have partnered the event organisers.
“Connie is an iconic personality who inspires many and represents so much of empowerment as an entertainer, businesswoman and philanthropist.
“We welcome her to Zimbabwe ahead of her programme and look forward to a fruitful exercise of empowerment and creating viable networks for all involved,” she said.
During her visit, the former Generations actress is expected to visit Emerald Hill Children’s Home in appreciation of Zodwa Mkandla Foundation charity initiatives.
Afterwards, she is expected to wrap up her programme with a Zumba Masterclass session, with acclaimed fitness trainer Zorro, as part of a drive to encourage fitness and wellness through physical exercise.
Besides acting, Ferguson is also an author, speaker, producer and co-founder of production company Ferguson Films which she co-founded with her late husband Shona Ferguson.
Back in South Africa, she is also a successful entrepreneur who runs a beauty care line called Connie Bodyline and a personal fitness and lifestyle blog called IConniecFit, among other ventures.
Meanwhile, limited tickets available to attend the conference at The venue in Avondale are being sold at Traverze for US$50.
The seminar runs from 9am to 3pm.
