APOSTLE SAMBO HAPPY WITH PROJECT
PRAISE and worship singer, Apostle Paul Sambo, reckons he has mastered the art of producing quality videos.
The 39-year-old, who is enjoying rave reviews in the wake of his beautiful video to the song Anogadzira Nzira, featuring Bethen Pasinawako, says he has invested a lot in visuals.
“Beautiful visuals easily sell in this era and that is why I am investing a lot in them.
“It dawned on me that we needed to create more content for our fans during the Covid-19-induced lockdown, which prompted me to come up with this concept.
“People get to understand our music better if we produce quality videos and I give all the credit to my videographer Slimaz,” he said.
The Mufakose-bred singer, who also doubles as an IT specialist, said it was never too late for artists to invest in videos.
“It’s unfortunate that we still have other artists who are a bit sceptical when it comes to investing in videos, especially the old school generation.
“It’s sad that those with rich catalogues of songs are sitting on gold at a time when they can still do videos for some of their old songs.
“It’s high time we embrace technology and monetise our music,” he said. Apostle Sambo, who is also dominating the airwaves with the same song
Anogadzira Nzira, said he was elated by the faith his fans have been showing him. “I’m humbled when fans vote for my songs on radio stations which means that I am doing something meaningful.
“It has always been my prayer that I touch people’s hearts with my music and I can now testify.
“The support I have been receiving gives me the urge to continue working hard,” he added.
Buoyed by the success of his third album, Apostle Sambo has vowed to produce more videos in the second half of the year.
His latest album features Jehovha Mufudzi, Mutsvene-Mutsvene, Mwari Mubatsiri, the title track Anogadzira Nzira, Getsimani and Ndivhureiwo Meso – featuring South Africa-based Zimbabwean gospel artist, Dr MacMillan.
He also featured Marimba Edenga on two other songs -
Baba Vedu Makazviita and
Hapana Chandinotya. Other singles he has released so far include
I Praise God, Zano, Jesu Arikudaidza, Jehovah Mufudzi Wangu, Vanokomborerwa and Vanokomborerwa Instrumental.
