⚫ Winky D, Jah Prayzah, Nutty O in showdown as music fans support local acts
WINKY D, Jah Prayzah and Nutty O have sent fans into delirium after they announced they will hold a joint show at HICC on June 18.
Dubbed “Redefined”, the show has been largely endorsed by music followers who favour local acts over foreign artists.
The announcement of the massive gig has triggered debate on social media, since most foreign acts have been taking the local audience for granted.
Recently, at the Carnival in Victoria Falls, some South African artists didn’t turn up despite being paid in advance.
Nigerian musician, Joeboy, did not entertain the fans as expected and rubbed salt into wounds after he controversially called his Zimbabwean fans as Zambians.
A section of music followers is already asking if the Nigerian superstar Burna Boy, who is set to perform in Zimbabwe soon, will perform with a live band.
At the Redefined Show, the trio of Winky D, Jah Prayzah and Nutty O will all perform with their bands.
Nutty O has said he was happy to note that he would be part of the gig with big guns such as Winky D and Jah Prayzah.
He also believes it is all a product of the hard work he has put in.
“This is humbling and overwhelming to be sharing the stage with the crème de la crème.
“This speaks volumes to the sacrifices, sleepless nights and hard work that I have been putting throughout the course of my almost decade long music career.
“This dovetails well with our motto, at ABX, which is a never-ending pursuit of growth. We will keep on growing and refining our art.
“It seems like we are attracting national attention music wise, I am now eyeing for Burna Boy, Pato and Wizkid levels that’s the next bus stop bro.” He has promised his fans fireworks.
“They have to expect the unexpected, it will be a day not to forget, a new piece of history will be made, specifically for the Zimbabwean music Hall of Fame, fingers crossed and be ready for this,” he told
