Slice T’s son settles in SA

SOUTH Africa based-rapper, Panashe “Drika” Viriri, reckons he made a good move to settle across the Limpopo.

The 21-year-old, who has landed a big collaboration with Amapiano star Malumnator of the LiyoShona fame, said he was learning from the best in Diaspora.

He hailed his Canada-based father, Slice T, who brokered the deal for his breakthrough.

The Afro beats exponent conceded life in Diaspora was quite an eye-opener.

“Well, I can say it’s very nice and different because my skill and type of music is always something people wanted to hear because of the language I will be using and the taste of my Afro beats sound,” he said.

The versatile songwriter said he was impressed by the strides he has made to penetrate the sub-region.

“I have reached out and presented some of my music to some artists that are already known in the industry and I am currently working on a project with Malumnator of the LiyoShona hit-maker.

“I have also learned that being original will always get you the attention you need.

“My vision is to put myself and Zimbabwe on the map, I am the next big star out of Zimbabwe,” he added.

To date, he has released a number of popular singles, among them Remember Me, Something featuring Poptain, Makomborero, among others.

Drika rose to prominence with the single Remember Me, which rocked West African countries.

It was made viral by Zari The Boss Lady and now he has signed to a big recording company in South Africa.

The Amapiano collabo is set to take South Africa by storm. Drika is the son of urban grooves pioneer Slicey T of the yesteryear boy band group SLICE out of Chitown.
