Foreigners nabbed over drugs

POLICE have arrested four foreigners for possession of illegal pharmaceut­ical drugs in Beitbridge.

The suspects - three Democratic Republic of Congo nationals and one Tanzanian - were trying to cross the Limpopo River into South Africa.

Police spokespers­on, Assistant Commission­er Paul Nyathi, confirmed the arrest.

“The ZRP confirms the arrest of four foreign nationals on 11 May 22 for possession of illegal Pharmaceut­ical drugs at Pande 2, Beitbridge,” he said.

“The suspects, who include three Democratic Republic of Congo nationals and one Tanzanian, were trying to cross the Limpopo River into South Africa.

“Police recovered 5 boxes biunique, 3 boxes amoxylene, 05 boxes ibucap, 10 boxes c4, 10 boxes cypomex, 4 packs ongaspies, 84x310ml energy drinks, 1 box relief tablets, 1 box vanilla sugar, 1 box kifarm 100 tablets, 1 le box cofo anti mosquito, 5x100ml bottle cypomex, 2 boxes of comprimido and 6 suspected precious stones.”

Ass Comm Nyathi said police in Harare arrested 34 suspects for smoking dagga and unlawful possession of dangerous drugs at Matute Flats, Mbare, and the Copacabana area.

“Police have recovered 36x100 mls of Bronclear Cough Syrup approximat­ely valued at Z$45 000,” he said.

The ZRP confirmed the arrest of Tapera Obeystar Nyamayaro (46), in connection with the murder of Gladmore Mutimbanyo­ka (26), along Tsikidzi Street, St Mary’s, Chitungwiz­a.

“The suspect fatally struck the victim several times with a wooden hoe handle after a misunderst­anding,” Ass Comm Nyathi said.

“In another case, ZRP Kasimure arrested Francis Makuwerere (39) and Believe Bvumai Mutevedzi Hondoma (37) in connection with the murder of Blessing Madzura (42) of Village 14, Pote,Karoi.

“ZRP Mazowe recorded a murder case where Christophe­r Museredza (36) fatally attacked his wife Revai Gaison before he committed suicide by consuming an unidentifi­ed poison at Fairview Farm, Mazowe.”

Ass Comm Nyathi added that police in Chatsworth are looking for Perai Mugure (41) in connection with the murder of his daughter Rutendorwa­she Mugure (16).

“The suspect allegedly came home drunk and attacked the victim’s mother, together with other siblings, before Rutendorwa­she tried to rescue her mother,” he said.

“The victim was attacked with open hands and wooden logs until she died before the suspect fled to an unknown destinatio­n.”
