A 15-YEAR-OLD actor has done himself proud after he became one of the best and youngest tour guides in Harare.

Sivuse Soko, the Form Four student started tour guiding when he was 11, and went through training.

In 2020, Sivuse featured on the BBC My World programme and also in a Polish Film Production called Dreamers of Sally. In an interview with H-Metro, Sivuse said:

“I am so excited to be among other best tour guides at this tender age that I want to give it my all.

“When I started tour guiding, back then, I thought it was just for fun but my enthusiasm was supported and nurtured,” he said.

Sivuse said featuring on the international platform has been his greatest achievement.

“Representing my country on BBC was something beyond me, I was really excited because it was my biggest achievement in my life.

“I was inspired to pursue tourism by my aunt Lynette, who is the pioneer of Free Walking Tours Harare.

“I wanted to share the knowledge I have of the country and what I love about it.”

Sivuse disclosed he will pursue tour guiding even at international levels.

“I am not going to stop tour guiding and I have to learn more until I reach international levels.

“I have faith that when the time is right God will fulfill the desires of my heart,” he said.

Sivuse’s mother, Mercyline Soko, said she will make sure that her son balances both school commitments and pursuing his talent.

“It is my duty as a parent to nurture my son’s talent and embrace it, at the same time I have to make sure that he balances schooling and his talent in tour guiding.

“Obviously, we prioritise schooling but we don’t have to ignore or suppress their talents.

“We need to observe our children’s strength and support them and that way it will be good for their future as well,” she said.
