Residents happy with Ward 4 Clinic
RESIDENTS have commended the Municipality of Chinhoyi for eventually opening Mt Tikwiri Clinic in Ward Four.
The clinic has not been functioning since 2020.
Residents, who spoke to H-Metro, hailed the local authority for opening the health centre.
Sylvester Zwambila said nurses seconded to the clinic should be inspired to serve the community of the Hunyani catchment area.
“A clinic is a very important investment in a community as it is tasked with maintaining the good health of the people,” said Zwambila.
“It is a medical facility of the first instance and offers basic treatment, in essence it’s a life-saver.
“We need to guard such a jewel jealously so that it is able to enhance community development.”
Susan Mpunga said the opening of the health facility was a huge step in the right direction.
“Any move towards progress must be applauded, especially when it concerns our health,” she said.
Tapiwa Chitate echoed the same sentiments.
“It’s a welcome development for our community, we now have easy access to medical attention.
“I salute the Council for seconding a nurse in our area,” said Chitate
Simba Mudzingwa also welcomed the developments.
“This is a very positive and welcome development for the Hunyani community.
“It means very soon sick people will not need to walk long distances to seek medical assistance as is the current situation.
“I would like to commend the Municipality for this move.
“A big thank you to Cllr Zvigadza, also for his call and efforts to have a registered nurse stationed at the clinic.
“Given that there are no pharmacies at Mt Tikwiri Business Centre, people might still end up walking to Chinhoyi rank or town to buy medicine and that would defeat the purpose of having the clinic close by.
“As residents we are still appealing to the Municipality of Chinhoyi to erect a security wall and install lights around the clinic to deter burglars.”
