‘HE’LL CHOOSE LUTON’

- Bruce Chikuni

WARRIORS legend, Cephas Chimedza, has backed Marvelous Nakamba to choose Luton Town over Aston Villa if the Hatters succeed in their chase for a spot in the EPL spot.

Luton booked their spot in the final round of the play-offs where they will meet Coventry City at Wembley on May 27.

Nakamba’s loan deal at Luton is set to run down at the end of this campaign.

And, he could be playing his last game for Luton at Wembley next week.

His union with his parent club Aston Villa is expected to expire at the end of next season.

Aston Villa are currently doing well and chances are really slim that Nakamba will be accommodated upon his return.

Coach Unai Emery even told reporters before his departure that he was looking at other options, in his squad, for the midfield roles.

And, his countryman Chimedza, who has spent the better part of his life in Belgium, feels Nakamba should choose Luton over Villa.

“For a player, it’s always good when you get game time and, as it is, he is a very important player for Luton so it’s a no brainer, it has to be Luton.

“I think he is at his best, he is feeling loved and in a good space to even do more if they get that EPL breakthrough.

“He has a chance to reach greater heights with Luton than with Villa because I don’t think he will get the same game time,” said Chimedza.

Nakamba has been a star performer for Luton in their bid to challenge for a place in the Premiership.

The challenge, it appears, will come if Luton fail to make the Premiership.

They are unlikely to take him on board because they don’t have the money to foot his salary.

With one year left on his Villa deal, Nakamba could also take a gamble and force his stay at the Birmingham club, even without playing, while getting what is due to him.
