UK-BASED gospel musician, Reverend Togarepi Chivaviro, has returned home just to be with his fans on the Africa Day holiday.

The veteran musician is set to perform at the Anglican Cathedral tonight.

The event coincides with his celebrations for reaching 20 albums.

He will also take time to introduce his son, Tinashe, on stage.

The teenage sensation, who has been itching to unleash his career, and had put everything on hold due to Covid-19, is now geared to take off.

“We have decided to celebrate this milestone with our fans, who have been our pillar of support, since day one.

“Twenty albums on the road is a huge milestone for me, my family and the band.

“This commemoration is a thank you to every fan for believing in me and for pushing me to do more.”

Chivaviro says his fans have been his source of inspiration.

“The event is strictly by invite because of the venue, we are taking time to say thank you to the fans after we launched our last three albums online.

“It hasn’t been easy being away from the fans and on this return date we are promising fireworks and to perform some of their favourites since we could not do so for the past three years,” said Chivaviro.

The musician has been travelling between the US, UK and South Africa, but has now settled in Leeds, UK.

The multiple-award winning star had his first dance in the studio in 1999 when he recorded Peace, Hope and Love.

He went on to release his second album titled Power (2000), Komborerai Africa (2002), Kuna Mwari Zvitaure (2004) and The Best of Rev Chivaviro Volume 1 (2006), before taking a break.

He made his huge breakthrough when he recorded double albums in 2015, this included Ebenezer and Early Hits.

In 2016, Chivaviro also topped local chart shows with Mhepo Inoperekedza.
