COMIC PASTOR WARNED, CAUTIONED

- Mathew Masinge

POLICE have warned and cautioned social media personality, Comic Pastor, over abuse allegations laid by his ex-wife, Munyaradzi Mavura.

Born Prosper Ngomashi, the comedian surrendered himself to police in Epworth upon his return from the United Kingdom, where he spent a few months on comic work.

He said he had nothing to fear since he never committed any of the alleged physical abuse levelled against him by Mavura.

While he was in the UK, Mavura took to Facebook and alleged that the comedian habitually abused her during the course of their oneyear marriage.

They divorced almost five years ago.

After surrendering himself to the police, in the company of his lawyer, the comedian said he now awaits an official police report from Mavura to corroborate her claims.

“We went to Epworth police where Prosper Ngomashi, aka The Comic Pastor, presented himself to police in connection with the abuse claims levelled by his ex-wife.

“He had his warned and cautioned statement recorded and he is due to appear in court if his ex-wife, Munyaradzi Mavura, makes a police report,” said his lawyer, Tafadzwa Muvhami.

In her claims, Mavura alleged that her oneyear marriage was like hell and she suffered “like no man’s business”.

She claimed that she used to be thoroughly beaten up each time she had an argument with Noddy (The Comic Pastor’s current wife), who was his girlfriend then.

Mavura also claimed that she was also beaten up “senyoka yapinda mumba” after she sent an “I miss you” message to Noddy while pretending to be her ex-boyfriend.

“That day ndakarohwa senyoka yapinda mumba even though I was pregnant.

“Kurohwa then became almost a normal thing. The abuse continued in different forms, but the beatings were the worst,” Mavura claimed on Facebook. She claimed The Comic Pastor ganged up with his current wife to send her back to her parents’ house.

“They called me a witch, shoved me into a car and drove to my parents’ house to cause a scene.

“I told my parents on the phone not to come out because they wanted to cause so much commotion in front of my parents’ neighbours.

“I ended up having a miscarriage due to this. I lost our innocent unborn baby, but he showed no concern whatsoever,” she said.
