ALCOHOL WILL BE THERE AFTER YOU, WARNS MACHESO

- Trust Khosa

SUPERSTAR Alick Macheso says some people appear to be in a race to try and finish all the alcohol in the world, especially during the end-of-year festive season.

December is usually a bloody month with people losing their lives in road carnages after taking part in beer binges.

The 55-year-old humanitarian ambassador said:

“Firstly, I would like to warn people that December comes every year and we don’t need to lose lives.

“People should know their limits and stop behaving like beer is a new thing.

“Beer will always be there and what is important for drinkers is to be responsible and save lives.

“It’s very unfortunate that there are some people who party to extremes, which has ended in tears most of the time.”

He added:

“It’s always advisable to stay away from the wheel when drunk. We can’t continue losing lives during this period when we are supposed to be enjoying with our loved ones.”

The sungura ace has also advised people to make good use of their savings.

“We should always understand that there is life after the festive season.

“School fees need to be paid once schools open and we should not be found wanting.

“It’s sad to see kids being sent back home when their parents were busy overspending during the festive season.

“We should always prioritise the future of our kids. It should not be affected by our habits.

“We should not squander what we worked for.

“Peer pressure should be avoided at all costs to ensure that we won’t regret our actions.”

He also urged people to try and avoid violence.

“I have witnessed many cases of violence involving some people who attend our shows.

“We don’t want to lose lives to violence.”
