MAN FIGHTING FOR LIFE AFTER GANG ATTACK
A MAN is battling for life in hospital after being attacked by a gang, which included another man who was caught with his brother’s wife at a lodge.
Lyton Dhliwayo (44), of Muchaendepi Village under Chief Mapungwana in Chipinge, was rushed to Mt Selinda Hospital after being attacked by Shepherd Sambo.
Shepherd was bust at a lodge with Gift Dhliwayo’s wife.
Gift is Lyton’s brother.
Shepherd and his friends first attacked Gift after he broke down the door to the room in which his wife and Shepherd had locked themselves in.
Lyton rushed to the lodge after being informed about the fracas.
Lyton tried to rescue his brother from further attacks, but Shepherd and his friends turned on him.
“I was assaulted for trying to rescue my brother from being attacked by Shepherd and his friends. Gift escaped when Shepherd and his friends turned on me,” said Lyton.
“Ndirikuchipatara, mbabvu dzangu dzakatsemurwa.
“What worries me is that my brother Gift never lodged a police report against Shepherd and his friends.
“He never chased away his wife. “He is just silent about the whole issue and this is worrying everyone, including Shepherd, whom he caught bedding his wife.
“I lodged an assault report against Shepherd and his friends but they are yet to be arrested.”
Gift told H-Metro that his wife claimed that Shepherd wanted to rape her when he lured her to the lodge.
“I had some issues with my wife and she went to her parents,” said Gift.
“Someone tipped me that she was at a lodge with Shepherd and I went there and knocked on the door to the room they were in.
“Shepherd refused to open and I broke down the door and attacked him.
“A security guard at the lodge
phoned Shepherd’s brothers and they came and attacked me in retaliation.
“Lyton rushed to rescue me and the gang attacked him, and that is when I got the opportunity to escape.
“Zvakandirwadza zvikuru kuroverwa mudzimai wangu nemunhu andakabata arimu lodge naye.” He added:
“After a meeting with my wife and in-laws, my wife told me that she was lured to the lodge by Shepherd promising to inform her how I was cheating on her during her absence from home.
“Hanzi nemudzimai wangu paakasvika akanzi handei ndinokuratidzai lodge munoswera murume wenyu nevamwe vakadzi.
“Upon arriving, Shepherd begged her to enter the room so that they would not be seen by other villagers.
“When she went into the room, she said Shepherd asked to have sex with her and she refused.
“Mudzimai wangu anoti pandakasvika akanzwa izwi rangu akatofara kuti ndavekurandutsirwa sezvo Shepherd akanga asati arara naye.
“I believed her and left everything to God. She will be judged if she lied to me; that is why I decided to continue staying with her.
“I am with her right now as we speak.”
