JOSTLE FOR KILLER T COLLABOS

- Maria Chiguvari

ZIM dancehall sensation, Silent Killer, is in demand.

A creative genius, the Mulonyeni singer is currently on fire.

After featuring on Fungisai Zvakavapano’s anti-substance abuse song titled ‘Vana Vapera,’ released on Monday, other artists now rate him highly.

Currently, he is in the studio recording another single with Mark Ngwazi at Makumbe Studios.

Ngwazi is the reigning

ZIMA Sungura Musician of the Year.

Despite his success, Ngwazi believes a collaboration with Silent Killer will be a game-changer.

Ngwazi praised Silent Killer’s talent and sees their collaboration as a way to promote unity between Zim dancehall and sungura artists.

“When I see Silent Killer, I see nothing but raw talent. He is the one who approached me with the concept paper and we agreed to work together.

“There is a general notion that Zim dancehall and sungura artists don’t see eye-to-eye, and it’s a perception we want to change.

“As artists, we can only succeed if we are united,” said Ngwazi.

Silent Killer’s publicist, Chicco Barack, said:

“He is inspired by the day-to-day lifestyles of youths in the ghetto and people in general. He creates music which delivers messages mostly to youths.

“His creative process is very rare among artists because he is a freestyle artist and uses poetry as well, so he doesn’t write songs.

“Regarding language, it is just street lingo which has nothing to do with the abuse of drugs, and to deliver to the fans, you should use it for them to understand

“There are top creatives like Fungisai who have seen it,” said Chicco.
