THESE are the FACES OF EVIL!

The cartel even includes three family members.

And, as they await to face justice after the long arm of the law finally caught up with them. The operation, which ended with these suspected armed robbers in police custody, is being held as one of the force’s biggest single success stories in their relentless assault on armed robbers and organised crime.

The operation nabbed NINE suspected armed robbers who were at the heart of a REIGN OF TERROR in Harare.

It all started with the police trailing and arresting three suspects - Misheck Takawira, 24, Jonas Daniel Mubaiwa, 22, and Shadreck Njowa, 20, − at Dongo Village in Neshangwe, Sadza.

By the end of the operation, the number of suspected armed robbers had grown to be three times bigger than the original number of those who were nabbed at Dongo Village

The youngest is only 20 while the oldest is twice his age at 40.

A third member of the Njowa family, Job Nyashadzaishe, 26, was also nabbed in the operation.

Now, the Njowa brothers and Mubaiwa have been joined by Cloudious Pemberengwa, 39, Shepherd Magorimbo, 30, Sydney Takavada, 40, John Amon Ndlovu, 34 and Godwin Chawaguta, 33.

They were arrested for allegedly orchestrating a spate of armed robbery cases which occurred in and around Harare between October 25 and December 13.

National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said on Wednesday last week, detectives from the CID Vehicle Theft Squad, received information which linked Misheck and Shadreck Njowa and Jonas Daniel Mubaiwa to a robbery which occurred at around 0150hrs, in which a taxi driver lost a Toyota Porte vehicle (AFG 9556), cash and a cellphone to the suspects.

They had hired him from the Harare CBD area to Southerton.

“The detectives acted on the received information and arrested the suspects at Dongo Village, Neshangwe, Sadza,” said Ass-Comm Nyathi.

“The arrest led to the recovery of the stolen vehicle, an AK Rifle, a cellphone, electric shocker, two kitchen knives, cabies and a pair of handcuffs.

“The suspects implicated Claudius Pemberengwa and John Amon Ndlovu who were arrested at duplex flats, Old Highfield in Harare.

“Claudius Pemberengwa and John Amon Ndlovu implicated Shepherd Magorimbo, Sydney Takavada, John Nyashadzaishe Njowa and Godwin Chawaguta, leading to their arrest in Highfield, Glen Norah, Willowvale Flats and Zengeza 5 Extension in Chitungwiza.

“The arrest led to the recovery of the suspects’ gateaway car, a Toyota Wish, a Vektor pistol with a magazine of 8 by 9mm rounds and 303 Rifle with 6 by 7.5mm rounds,” said Asst-Comm Nyathi.

Claudius Pemberengwa, Sydney Takavada, John Amon Ndlovu and Godwin Chawaguta led detectives to a bush area along James Martin Road, Southerton in Harare where they were alleged to have hidden firearms.

“Upon arrival at the scene the suspects started to run away and were each shot on the knee by the detectives.

“The suspects were taken to hospital in Harare where they are currently admitted. The suspects are being linked to six cases of robbery including a case of robbery which occurred at a service station in Machipisa, Highfield in Harare,” said Asst-Comm Nyathi.
