MACDEE HANDS ETERNITY TO THE YOUTH BRIGADE
VETERAN music producer, McDonald “MacDee” Chidavaenzi, is excited to hand Eternity Production Studios to some young producers while he focuses on expanding the brand beyond the country’s borders.
Macdee, who is now staying in the UK, said Eternity Studios was now in the hands of Tadiwanashe ‘DJ Tadex’ Moroka, Tinashe Mutemererwa (Mute Bass) and Fyth the Myth.
“DJ Tadex is like my son and ever since he started high school, he spent most of his time with me and I never really told him to venture into music but I think he was so fascinated with what I do.
“I only realised that he was interested in the music when he replicated the instrumental for Mirira, a song I produced for gospel artist Tembalami with his fruitoops software at home.
“He also created the drum line for my hit song, Energy, and from there I included him on the producers training programme that I initiated at Eternity Studios to groom the next generation creative team.”
He added:
“The team has three producers who are running
Eternity Production’s Zimbabwe studio without glitches while I push the same vision in
England and back home. “I am amazed at the growth of these youngsters, particularly Tadex.
“It makes me feel like I have done something right in imparting what I have to the next generation.”
Tadex said it’s an honour to be part of the team being groomed.
“I feel great and like I am achieving my dreams, I am working with artists I grew up listening to and respecting is just an amazing feeling.
“I was born and bred in the high-density suburb of Dzivaresekwa and I started my musical journey in 2020 when I was in high school, and used to play desks as drums.
“Under the humble guidance and mentorship from the multi-talented producer, McDonald ‘Macdee’ Chidavaenzi, I discovered there was more to music production than what I previously knew.”
He added:
“Not only was he instrumental in shaping my musical career but also acted as a role model.
“I have worked with artists who include Selmor Mtukudzi on her latest album, Selmor @40, Freeman, Trevor Dongo, Ishan, Herman and Kae Chaps.
“I had a few pending songs with the late Garry Mapanzure.”
