MAI TT'S BACKERS GET NEW FLEET OF CARS

- Arron Nyamayaro

AFTER going into bed with socialite Mai TT, it appears TopSnash Car Rental can no longer keep themselves out of the headlines.

The company has just taken stock of a fleet of luxurious vehicles, which has created a buzz on social media.

It has also led some to question whether it is moving from renting cars to selling them.

However, TopSnash director, Munashe Chitapa, said their roots remained firmly in the car rental business.

Chitapa said Zimbabweans, who are based in the Diaspora and are coming home for the end-of-year holidays, booked the vehicles to visit the country’s holiday destinations.

Chitapa said the company bought the cars to meet the demand for domestic tourism and to provide Zimbabweans with better options.

Many car rental companies’ vehicles are being used by criminals.

“Zimbabweans have developed a sense of visiting our own resort areas like Victoria Falls, Hwange National Park, Kariba Nyanga and others.

“Domestic tourism is the main driver of the fleet of cars we bought to hire them out to our own people.

“Hanzi takatonzwa nevarungu kuti kune nzvimbo dzinoyevedza munyika medu.

“We are proud that Zimbabweans have opened their eyes and seen the importance of visiting the country’s resorts with their families, and we provide good cars for them to travel.”

He added:

“Then, there are people who are in the country for holiday and they want to drive around viewing the beauty of our country.

“We do not want to disappoint our clients since most of the rental companies were being used by criminals.”

He said his company has previously lost vehicles to robbers, but police detectives assisted them to reduce the number of thefts.

“Vamwe vaiuya kuzotora mota voenda nadzo kunotoresa zvimbadzo.

“Some hire the car after getting a buyer and they sell it.

“We managed to recover a number of these vehicles.”
